How to connect the Add-In for SharePoint?

I am interested in trying to use PowerShell against our company SharePoint portal, We have some automation Tools like MS Flow and Alteryx Server that we are leveraging and I am trying to connect to a Workflow History listing. However, it is hidden from these other tools and I hoping Powershell might be an option.

I am trying to install and get it to work our on AWS EC2 environment and I keep having a lot of trouble adding the Add-In for SharePoint,

I tried following this kind of instruction but had zero success.

We are SharePoint Online/O365

Any suggestions?

I did not solve this issue. Still looking for guidance. My biggest need is to delete over 5000 rows at once from a SharePoint list based on criteria.

as you are on SharePoint Online you should use the SharePoint PnP for SharePoint Online module.

With that it should be a piece of cake to connect to your tenant and run the delete on the list items.

The link you provided is only possible for local on-premises installations AND due to the fact it uses SharePoint built-in PowerShell module it has to run on a server where SharePoint is actually installed.
PnP PowerShell uses the SharePoint Client runtime and can therefore run on any PowerShell enabled device (e.g. Server 2016, 2012R2 or even Win10).

(P.S.: sorry for the late reply - vacation time)
