I have new Windows Server 2012 R2 that I had set some permissions on some folders on the D drive. I backed up files from a Windows Server 2003 SP2 and restored to the D drive on this 2012 Server using Veritas Backup 2012. Now my drive is not accessible, access is denied. I can map shares and get access to them but still have not managed to get the D drive to be accessible. I am logging on as a domain admin. Any idea of what I'm missing? Thanks.<br />

Permission Problems on Windows Server 2012 after restore.

I have new Windows Server 2012 R2 that I had set some permissions on some folders on the D drive. Permission problem restoring files from 2003 server to 2012 server.

Windows OS

Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).
