I dont see under settings -apps where i can enable IRM services in offic e365 portal

i have on premise AD where users are synced through AAD sync to offivce 365

how can i enable IRM services in office 365

The settings are there, look for Microsoft Azure Information protection. Or click here: https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/RmsOnline/Manage.aspx?brandContextID=O365

Any additional configuration needs to be done via the Azure portal and the corresponding blade.

I believe 365 mails are already encrypted.


I am not getting much , are there any further steps required apart from enabling under settings-apps enable IRM which I don't see

in my portal

O365 has TLS encryption by default which means the email is encrypted during transit so the connection is encrypted, but if you are requiring encrypting the actual mail contents also then you will need to have IRM enabled and setup along with Mail rule. Since I don't know anything about your environment, I would suggest contacting MS support for IRM setup is you have that available based on your license, but yes by default O365 does use TLS encryption natively and this requires no changes on your part.
