Well I contacted support to see what i was missing in the logs and the short answer is nothing. Esxupdate.log nor vcenter had an errors they said I would need to reinstall update manager. For now I am install the update manually then going to upgrade vcenter to 6.5

I am using Update Manager to try and upgrade one of our ESXi host from ESXi 6 Update 2 to U3 and it keeps failing with the message &quot;Update Manager had an unknown error. Check the event and log files for details&quot; .When I check the esxupdate.log file on the host is does not indicate why it is failing to update.
