Sharepoint user import missing properties.

Hello,

I am stuck and really need some help. I have deployed SP2016 and configured the user profile sync with AD. Import seems to be working as profiles were imported and properties like description, name, email and telephone number are coming through with no issues.
For some reason any phone number from telephones is not coming through. The one I need is mobile specifically. I have created a custom property in SP user profiles and tried mapping it to AD mobilephone property. I tried using multi valued string and single string etc. I can map SP property to AD description field and that imports with no issues but when its mapped to any of the number on telephones tab it doesn't import.
Another property that is not coming through is manager. I have tried remapping it and creating a custom property etc as well with no luck.

I deleted and recreated user profile application. I recreated ad connection. I even build a new sharepoint with a new DB and even on a fresh build i get exact same behavior so i don't think its "broken". I just think i'm missing something due to my lack of exp.

THank you in advance for any advice. I am new to sharepoint and i don't even know where to start looking for the root cause.

Found a fix for this one as well. If someone can explain the reasoning behind this I would really appreciate it.

it appears the mobile phone property was mapped to mobilephone in AD, which is how it can be recalled and shows up in AD, however in attribute editor in AD the property is listed as mobile. I remapped the property to mobile instead of mobilephone and it synced. As soon as it synced all other properties synced as well.

Why would a single property prevent others from syncing and why was it some and not all that were prevented from syncing?
Is there a log for ad import that i could of looked at to see the issue? I keep seeing people using miisclient but i don't seem to have it installed. Its SP2016

In AD it is called mobile. Where did you get mobilephone ?

The multivalue otherMobile attribute can contain another mobile phone number

powershell

get-aduser * -properties mobilephone,mobile,othermobile

the first two will return the same property.
