Cloned drive not starting

I used a software called Drive Cloner Rx to clone my old hard drive to a new SSD drive.  When I switched the cables to make the cloned drive the main drive, it didn't seem to pick it up as the new drive.  What am I doing wrong?

check in the bios - boot priorities - if the drive is selected as boot drive
iif that is correct, check if there is a bios update available - i had a system that would not boot from a cloned drive - that was booting fine on other systems
Do you get some error message or does it just not see the drive?
What operating system?
Could be a number of things.

Did you clone the drive or just a partition to the new drive?
Were both drives SSD or just the destination?
Is Drive Cloner compatible with SSDs?  I presume  it is but have you checked the documentation.
If you attach this drive as a slave to another computer can you view the contents of the drive there?  This will check that the contents were copied across correctly to the drive.

ASKER

I cloned just the partition to the SSD.  I don't see why an SSD or spinning drive would really make a difference.
