if you have a virtual machine running in a current state and the virtual machines needs consolidation if you do consolidate will the consolidation revert the virtual machine status to the snapshot or change the current state " data and programs " of the virtual machine ? or will it just delete the snapshots and keep the virtual machine in the current running status with out any change to the running programs and the data stored in the virtual machine ? please explain as you may explain to a 5 years old child . thank you

The easiest method to handle this is as follows:-

1. Take a new snapshot.
2. Wait 120 seconds.
3. select DELETE ALL

this will then not revert, and merge all the snapshot files (deltas) in to the parent disk.

Please be patient, whilst this operation completes!

Please see my EE Article, and have a read while it merges...
