Cannot send email from Eaton UPS using Network-MS Card
We need to send email alerts from our Eaton UPS. Tried Google, local exchange server using Reflexion. We setup a receive connector but still not working.
We're looking for best practice or other solutions for this functionality.

Are you trying to send email to a third party domain? or how exactly, please elaborate.

Thanks. The UPS is a Eaton 5PX 1500 RM with the Network-MS Card.
We setup a gmail address called ***alerts@gmail.com. We want alerts to to go to this address so we can monitor from a remote location.
We're using 587 as the port and the email address and password for the authentication.
We cannot use smtp.gmail.com for some reason. We have a watchguard t50 onsite.
We monitor the traffic going out and when we use the smtp.gmail.com traffic does not pass. However when I use either 173.194.76.109 or 74.125.141.108, traffic passes. However we don't actually receive any email remotely on the gmail account we setup.
EDIT: Also we do have an Exchange 2013 server onsite where the UPS is and we did try to setup a relay via a new receive connector but that did not work either.
We're just looking for a simple way to get this done.

Let me ask you a question before I proceed, did you configure DNS and all the network settings to that card?
In order for you to configure Gmail to receive those notification you need to authenticate the SMTP user as you may know.
Incoming requieres SSL port 993
Outgoing SMTP requieres SSL port either 465 or TLS/SSL 584
Make sure you have everything checked.
Let me know.

IP of UPS is set static. We're using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as primary/secondary DNS.
Incoming port 993? We do not have that open. Not sure why we would if this is just outgoing?
Outbound we set to 587. I will try 584.

You dont need to open that port, you are sending out traffic not receiving.
Try using SMTP 465.
Does the menu has an option for testing?

I tried this already but will try again.
The reason as I mentioned above was due to the fact that the DNS was not resolving properly. Another user had a similar issue and was successful using an IP address instead so we tried the same to no avail.

Why dont use ISP or some other DNS? does the company where you work to doesn't have any local DNS?
Local DNS have hints to resolves names.

We tried that as well but will try again.
Make sure you can ping that card interface and also make sure you dont have any ip conflict down the road.
