Force Office Compatibility Mode

in our environment we have different versions of Microsoft office 2010-2013-2016

I need some kind of mechanism like GPO to force  users who have office 2013 or 2016 to save their documents in Compatibility mode.

Any help will be very much appreciated

Thanks

What compatibility?

.DOCX (and other office) started with Office 2007 (maybe even 2003) and is set Application by Application (not one global setting). Anything earlier than this should be out of service and upgraded.

Is there another compatibility setting you are looking for?

If you are using 2010 and above you should embrace the extendable markup language.  Here is a nice tutorial with screen shots for office 2010 that you can copy, paste, and add to your instructions.

But how do you force End Users to Save with Compatibility Mode.
They have Office documents in the shared drive,  they click save icon and it gets saved with whatever version of office they own. how do you force the office documents in the share to be saved with Compatibility mode ?
You can get users to use either mode (as I said above - good instructions) but why?  Everything now is new (DOCX) mode.

You now (in 2018) and with Office 2010 and newer want to turn Compatibility Mode OFF not ON.  Use the newer method (new 10 or 11 years ago).
