local and local low folders are being copied to the users profile on the server

When adding a new user to a Windows 2008 R2 network using both roaming profiles and folder redirection, the Local and local low folders appear in the profile on the server[user.v6].  This results in a profile error at log on because the folders in the local section are attempted to be copied back to the work station.

The work station is running Windows 10 PRO update 1803.  I have tried deleting the directories on the server copy of the profile but they come back at next log on

its sounds like you are trying to redirect AppData to the roaming profile in group policy and for some reason, the default behavior, which is to exclude those directories, is not working properly.  is this correct?  if so you should review the policy and see if anything is amiss.

could you perform RSOP for this computer and user and provide the results?

How do I get the actual data to export to a file.  The export feature creates a small text file, but I am not sure how to get the data to you

Is this helpful?
you can export the sections that we want to look at to a text file then attach the files to the post.  see the paper clip attach the file at the bottom of writing a comment.

alternatively, you could run the group policy modeling wizard from the group policy management mmc and the just copy and paste info on the details tab of the report.  it would look something like this.

if you tried to attach a file to your post you were unsuccessful.

to attach a file to a post you need to first choose the file and then upload the file.  it may take a moment.  then you can add a brief description of the file.  once you do this you will see an attachment in your post.

like I have done with the file 1.txt

I did a bit more research and found that [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"ExcludeProfileDirs"="AppData\\Local;AppData\\LocalLow;$Recycle.Bin" was missing from the registry.  I added it and all seems fine now

Thanks,  The article makes a lot of sense in this case.  It is a new Windows 10 computer with a new user going into the network that has been working fine since the 1607 version of  Windows 10.  All of the existing computers had the entry in the registry before the issue with the article that you provided
