Open files that has Long Path/Name
Long path and file name on Windows 10.
I have user that can't open an excel file that is sync from Sharepoint to his computer. I believe the issue is because the file path and name together exceeded 260 characters. I shorten the name of the file and it opens. I copy file to path a level up and it works. I don't want to make changes to name/path. I read online that windows 10 support ntfs long path. I followed the instruction and apply the registry/gpedit change but i still can't open the file. Can anyone can provide insight or suggest other solution other than shorten name/path? I tried/failed to open file both on 32bit/64bit excel. thanks
