How to broadcast office chatter to remote workers

We may be transitioning to having multiple employees work remotely from home.  We are looking for ways to create an office environment, virtually.  I looked at this:

http://www.doublerobotics.com/double2.html

and it looks useful, but seems like it is just Facetime on a remote controlled dolly.  In their solution, they recommend using iPads on either end for displaying the video portion and the audio portion. The rep I spoke with from Double Robotics said he is in Washington DC and has a Robot unit in their San Fran office. He controls the robot and has it take "him" into his bosses office for a meeting, or down the hall for conference with co-workers.  Sound interesting, but in our application, we just have one group office here, then a few people "officing' from their house.

Do any of you have input or other suggestions on how a remote worker can have visual and audio of our office on a device at their office in their house?  Ideally it would be two-way, so that chatter in our office is heard there, and chatter there is heard here, thereby somewhat re-creating the group office experience.

Double robotics is fine for a single user, but you'd have to get one for each user.  You can use a webpage too, so it's not limited to the iPad.

Based on your description, it sounds more like you need a meeting app such as WebEx, GoToMeeting or Zoom.us.  If it's a small enough group, you can even use a free app like Skype and only buy a few licenses of one of he meeting apps for larger group meetings.

That is interesting about using Skype.  How can we make it a two way experience for both ends, the remote worker and also the small group office here, where we all see and hear the collective office visual and audio sounds?
