Can't use TextBox software over VoIP phone line
Hi,
My customer has been using TextBox (a service of Line1 Communications, Inc. https://www.businesstextbox.com/) to send text messages directly from their computers in the past.
Since they switched their phone system to VoIP system, TextBox failed to run. The tech support of TextBox software company told me that the VoIP phone carrier is the problem.
TextBox software utilizes main business phone number to send/receive texts from recipients cell phones.
Having said that, is there a software out there to replace this TextBox software?

What advantages has the paid TextBox software against the free e-mail? Why to pay for something when the provider says "sorry, you cannot use it over your network"? And this happens in time when VoIP is many years here...
All smartphones do support e-mails and many more software products exist which could achieve your requirements. Look at e.g Slack, Viber, and various other messengers and team collaboration software.

SMS can be useful as out of band message sending, and can be handles on ANY GSM phone.., for mail one needs a Android/iPhone... or laptop,
so it has it's place. Also for things like temporary access keys could require SMS messaging.

That's correct. For such purpose you may look for SMS gateway or for a software which utilizes SMS gateways.
A few examples of SMS gateway providers:
https://www.infobip.com/en/platform
https://www.nexmo.com/products/sms - this will require programming
http://www.smssolutions.net/smscenters/high/1306/
https://www.smsgateway.to/en/the-netherlands
Many such services exist and I have no clue about their reliability but I believe you'll find one which could fit to your needs.
