Users reporting they are unable to see emails in Dynamics 365 after Set Regarding from Outlook.

We have upgraded CRM 2011 to Dynamics 365 8.2.2.112 On-Premise. Now users are reporting that they are unable to see their emails in D365 after set Regarding from Outlook.

Outlook says the email is set regarding an account but we can’t find it tracked in D365 (screenshot below).

Users have to save an email after doing Set Regarding (which was not required in CRM2011).
 
Is there a way to eliminate the need to save the email when using Set Regarding?

The screenshot is the Email Activity section from the Account that was Set Regarding in Outlook.  The screenshot is from the IFD of Dynamics 365.
