Recommendations for Backup software? (Backup over WAN to our server)

We have a server in a Data centre and we want to run incremental daily backups to this server over WAN.

The backups will mainly be file backups, exchange, SQL and possibly whole VM backups or Windows Image backups.

I have been looking around and am having trouble finding a product that will suite what we want at a reasonable price. Ideally we would like to be able to pay a one off fee to license our backup server in the datacentre and then be able to backup what ever we want to it, we dont want to have to pay and license for every single instance of file or application backup we configure, though not sure if something like this exists...

Anyone got any recommendations?

Top software you are looking for is VEEAM.

it comes in different license options. You can get an MSP license where you just report the amount of backups you take and pay for that.

But then you need to setup your own backup infrastructure.

You can also search for a VEAAM Cloud connect parter and backup there. You pay then for the amount of space you need.

any idea how much space you need? We can help to if you want.

ASKER

Have explored VEEAM and the way they structure their products and licensing costs are not compatible with us.

I agree that VEEAM is a good product.  But if cost is a concern, then maybe you may want to look at Open Source Backup Programs.  Such as http://www.amanda.org/ or http://blog.bacula.org/

Or consider Online Backup Service Providers.
@tom_szabo can you tell how much space you would need for backup storage?
Also, never save on backups!! this is your most important rule. there ar many organisations who saved on backup  solutions and then regret it because the moment they need critical data and its not restorable of worse not correctly backuped.

Once you have a problem with your backups you will be happy to call premium support for assistance! Believe me i have seen some strange shit at cusomers who tried to save on backups....

it is like buying a super expensive car and then saving on insurance on it. Wait untill you crash with it... of that someone crashes into you!
