Color slide to computer
My cousin (who I have no way to contact) put his father's color slides on the father's computer so the many dozens of images could be viewed as the screen saver, one photo at a time.
I have slides I need to get to my computer.
There are Youtube videos using DSLR cameras and cereal boxes with a hole, piece of paper, shine a light to show the image and then use the camera to take a photo. These slides are not worth buying a new camera.
I doubt the cousin used a high powered camera. He could have used an actual slide projector since i know his father had one.
Any other methods?

I do have an Epson scanner and on a Youtube video there was someone using a scanner. He removed the cover and there was a pre-made plastic holder for the slides to be scanned. I do not think my scanner has such ability though.
A neighbor has a camera he says can take a picture of a dime and you can clearly read the date. These slides are only about 1 x 1.5 so with the cereal box, white paper and light he might get a close shot of the image on the slide. I won't be able to see them for several days.
I'll post back when I get the best solution.
We have free cycle sites and I'm asking for a slide projector. There are free cycle sites in most major cities and you offer things you do not need and ask for things you want, for the sole purpose of "recycling" it to a person rather than the trash.

There are Office Depot stores near you. Ask if they provide this service.

I had already checked Staples and 25 for $24.99 and it puts them on a disc.
My scanner does the job itself. I removed the top and the surface underneath felt like the same material as the top cover. However when I went to professional mode it matched a video on the Epson 4490 scanner. That one showed lights and mirrors on the top and my 3170 did not appear to. Once in professional mode yes mine does have a light it shines through the material under the cover. Slides have to be scanned from the top. But my scanner is missing the "film holder" which has slots for 4 slides. I see one on Ebay for $15. I am not aware of the film holder coming with the scanner which was given to me. It may have come with all the rest from the office and I did not know what the film holder was. I would not have thrown it away. I have zero idea where it might be.
Here is the result which is not good quality but I have yet to play around with the settings. Also with no film holder I had to let the slide rest on paper clips and the slide is likely not high enough off the surface.
The photos are only to show buyers what they can get as large as 8x10 from the slide.
This is pro golfer Mike Hill from 1970. If anyone wants it let me know. Oh you never heard of him?
I have slides of Sam Snead, Joe DiMaggio, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player from 1970. Those will sell.

Not sure on Joe D. The slide is from the 1971 Kemper Open in Chatlotte and Mr. DiMaggio was on the 17th green during the pro-am.
Was he the pro or the am? :)

He was the amateur playing with a pro. I have not seen the slide to know who he was paired with. His only professional status was baseball.
Got it! Too bad you don't have a slide of him roaming center field in Yankee Stadium.

I got one converted to 4 x 6 for $1.49 at a camera shop. They give no volume discount. These slides are of famous pro golfers and the slides will sell for maybe $6.00 to $7.99 on Ebay with free shipping. Fees are 13%. Shipping hopefully one stamp.
I do have a cell phone with camera but not a top line one.
I have to keep cost way down since I do not know if all 30 will sell.
