We purchased a Kronos301 from Nexxt to be used as a repeater.  We follow the instructions but no internet.  We can see the kronos device in our mobile and even connect directly, but no internet.  We downloaded an apps that displays the wifi signal and also the kronos is read close to 190% mbps.

We have contacted Nexxt but it's a to/fro of emails with no solid answers.

Question,
  • When having a repeater configured to connect to the WiFi router, do the mobile devices also has to be configured to actual kronos301 device or the mobile just read in the amplify signal, no need to change the wifi setting on the mobile device?

  • also, when reaching the end of our wifi router signal range and supposedly entering the kronos301 range, there is no internet and the signal bars of the iphone/ipad stays the same or lower as to leaving the wifi router signal - how can we troubleshoot this?

Please advice

I am working the kronos people, but can you help me in those 2 questions in general terms?
When having a repeater configured to connect to the WiFi router, do the mobile devices also has to be configured to actual kronos301 device or the mobile just read in the amplify signal, no need to change the wifi setting on the mobile device? repeater are used just to amplify the signal, client device don't need any special settings.

also, when reaching the end of our wifi router signal range and supposedly entering the kronos301 range, there is no internet and the signal bars of the iphone/ipad stays the same or lower as to leaving the wifi router signal - how can we troubleshoot this? you don't have to do anything at this point of time since your repeater is not working properly. So basically as far as you go from your wifi router signal will drop and internet will not be accessible or very very slow.

In "client device don't need any special settings" you mean I don't have to configure nothing to my iphones for this new repeater device?
that's correct

We have setup the repeater, connected to the WiFi router but the mobile devices cannot connect to tnternet (in the out of range area Of the WiFi router but within range of repeater).

I don’t see the iPhone or iPads connect to the repeater.  Should the devices connect to the repeater automatically instead of the WiFi-router?
device connects to ssid, repeater acts only to amplify wireless signal.

Doesn't work.  I can see the SSID of the repeater but no connection internet.  However, I finally  got answered from Nexxt and was recommend to reset repeater, do the same exact install but with the difference, do an actual connect to the repeater from the iphone (doesn't make sense since I thought its suppose stay connected to the wifi-router, now I have to configure all my deices for this repeater).  The strange thing is that their documentation doesn't say configure wifi devices to connect to repeater.

So I decided to find some other repeaters in the markets and found videos that all of them the devices has to be configure to the repeater as to connect to it when the main wifi-router is our of range.  Doesn't make sense sence repeater i thought was just as you said "repeater acts only to amplify wireless signal".

Can you shed some light on this? Maybe some info to talk to Nexxt (maybe the tech is confused)?

Thank you in advance.
is your repeater is taking any IP?
is your repeater is wired connected to modem?
is your repeater broadcasting any dummy ssid?

Ip i will check.

Is not wiref connected to modem.

Yes, broadcasting because I see it in the iPhone/iPad.
since your repeater is broadcasting SSID , it must be associate with some IP subnet..and that subnet should be routable to your modem to reach internet.

Remember, no internet; purpose for the question.

As for the IP will check tomorrow when i return.
we are on original questions, problem is that repeater is broadcasting SSID which is not reaching toward internet because SSID of repeater don't have routing toward your modem (WIFI).

Ok just got the IP, it's the same as the main router (don't know why - see pix below).

wifi
And the strange thing, it works!

That is, we have to connect once to the repeater and when we leave the main wifi router, it connects to the repeater.

How is this possible? same IP info all the way to ip (192.168.0.14) and router (192.168.0.1)
Strange! it is replication your original ssid settings.

yes it is.  And the thing is that it works (obviously, I have to setup all devices also to the repeater, its not automatic).

Have any Idea?
I have repeater ay my home bt I don't need to setup my devices. in your scenario now you have two SSIDs, you can keep same password for both so during less signal either of, your device can switch automatically. I think so.

What repeater do you have? Can you provide the model and manufacturer?
that is just a local made.

Understood.  But based on what you have said, I have not found a repeater that works like yours, no additional SSID or connect to this new SSID, etc.  Just wanted to know your model/mfg so I can find the similar type.

Just did a quick search of it and doesn’t say it’s a repeater.
I am using it as repeater by wiring it through main router.

My Kronos301 receive the internet signal via WiFi from the main router, no cable.

When you say wiring, you mean the internet signal of your Technotree comes from a lan cable connected from the router? (That is, your main router and the technotree are not connect via WiFi?)
correct

And in your case, you don’t have to set the SSID of the Technotree router in your device in order to work?
I dont need to setup my devices, just connect technotree ssid and enjoy.

Chosen your router as best solution becuase readings the clients comment all points thta there is no SSI setup etc. as you sead.

However, I have not found where to buy it.
