What is the cheapest 55 inch Touchscreen display/ TV

Hi,

We are searching for a touchscreen display/ TV to have in our conference room.

Ideally the size we are looking for is about 55 inches.

It will be useful for us but we are aware it comes at a high cost.

What is the cheapest 55 inch Touchscreen available?

Thanks,
Robbie

Beware, you will get what you pay for.  From my query this is the cheapest but again, no reviews.  Not sure how good this is and verify the seller before purchase.

Also be aware that Touch Screen requires capacitive type devices across the entire screen to detect the touch. So the screens will be expensive.

A handheld wireless optical mouse will be one heck of a lot cheaper.

There are additional issues with a touch screen that big.  Two of the big ones:

1.  It will look grubby and finger-marked after the very first use and from there on out.  Cleaning it will be a permanent, daily job; the more it is cleaned, the worse it will look; and if you let your cleaning crew do the cleaning, they will damage it for sure.

2.  Pushing on a big screen that is not securely attached to a wall is begging for it to tip over and break.
Before we get to which is the cheapest option, what are your requirements? The cheapest touchscreen might not have features you need. Things like pressure sensitivity, color accuracy, low latency, number of multi-touch points, resolution, etc.

My boss things that using a touch screen may make for better brainstorming in a meeting room, you can chat while very easily scroll through spreadsheets, network stored files, apps and the net, which he hopes would keep conversations running smooth.

he is unsure but feels going back and fo the to a keyboard on the table, or sitting down altogether at the keyboard isn't as dynamic.

He hasn't tried a good quality portable mouse that he could use while standing up, but said that his suspicion is that they would be much more limited that everything he could do quickly with his finger and a touch screen connected to a PC.

He is open to correction as we have used neither setup extensively in the past.

Primarily he wants:

    • Full operation of the PC/Laptop from the stand up touch screen display at the front of the small meeting room
    • Fast input so that conversations flow smoothly
    • The PC/Laptop will also be connected to our network so that it will be used for everything, all PC based apps and the net and our server file system. Including Excel, Accounts software, word documents, project management, cloud based apps.
    • Budget is somewhat tight and  we are a tiny business, but he feels it will bring a significant improvement. Currently we have no TV or large wall mounted displays, we use whiteboards and flip charts only, and then sit around somesis desk to look at a 32 inch screen connected to a laptop. He wants to move things on from this to modernise how we meet, make things easier, faster, morte dynamic and viewable by everyone.
So your boss needs to match his needs with his wallet. That is the way it works.
Is 55 inches a definite requirement? There may be more options around different sizes.
That said, Dell has a 55" 4k option for $3200, which seems like a reasonable price given the current market.
John: yes of course he needs to match his needs with his budget. I'm trying to research a reasonable budget solution.

Brandon Lyon:
The budget is between 600 and 1500.
It doesn't need to be 4k
55" would be ideal, but he may have to compromise to 32" if larger is too expensive.
The budget is between 600 and 1500.   …..  he may have to compromise to 32"

As a touch screen 32 - 36 inches will be much more affordable and in a normal sized room should work.
I know that John.

I am looking for feedback on the overall list of requirements and thoughts on the various items listed above, not just the budget.

There are other possible solutions other than a touch screen.
A pointer connected to the laptop or computer with an advanced clicker will prevent him from going back an fort. The pointer/clicker is one small device since you're talking about cheap. Every well know speaker uses one for their presentation
Natty, I don't mind spending large on "A pointer connected to the laptop or computer with an advanced clicker" as it would be much less expensive a sliton than a 55" touch screen. What device would you suggest that is high end?

But separately, would it be as dynamic an interaction during brainstorming as quickly touching a screen, scrolling though files with you finger, tapping on different apps to open them etc?

Thanks for you feedback.
Thanks John, but I think you are missing almost all the points in my lists above. The device you mention is for conduction "Presentations" , nt for general computer use. Thanks for your input.
I did read and understand what you are saying but really there are only two broad ways to do this:

1. Stand at the screen and touch it - Expensive
2. Manage the laptop and laser pointer to the screen - Cheaper and less sexy.
