Exchange Certificates removal
Hello,
I have an Exchange 2010 server. I have an certificate about to expire, which is no problem as I’ve renewed it several times over the years. My question is, There are 2 other Certs in the Exchange Certificates windows that I’d like to delete, I didn’t create, and have been there since installation. They don’t expire anytime soon but do I need them? Can I just use one Cert? I didn’t create them.
Attached image – The 2 with the blue check are the ones I’d like to delete if I can, the Ranger Certificate is the one I make when from time to time when it expires and as far as I can tell the others don’t do anything. But before I gut them I’d like to make sure.
Thanks for the help
Eric

Those are self-signed certificates and you are currently using the purchased (Ranger) SSL for SMTP. The blue ones are safe to delete.

Thanks for the response,
That Ranger Cert is not a Purchased Cert, that's the one I create internally on our certificate server. We have never purchased a cert at this organization for anything ever. I'm confused as to why it says "false" under the Self Signed.
Thanks again

Thanks for clarifying. If the Ranger cert is your default SMTP cert and you can delete the blue ones.

Are you sure? I have deleted mine and no issues so far. I have set SMTP to use a purchased SSL.
Can you clarify what is "internal communication"? Thanks!

I see, thanks for the clarification. In my case yes, I have the server name on the cert.
