How to fix Corrut Server Backup

we have a SBS2008 server that had recently been effected by malware.
Our webroot antivirus program saw it and deleted it.
now the server backup will not run.
it still shows in windows features as being installed but there is no block level backup in services.

Would removing the feature and adding it back fix this issue or do you think its something bigger that would need Microsoft support involved?

Not a lot of information provided to answer your question. I would try removing the feature and adding it back in.  And then if that doesn't work, you can reach out to MS.

Are you seeing anything in the Event Logs?

Are you getting any messages at all when the backup is supposed to run?

I'm Removing the feature right now. then I will add it back.

ok well I had to contact Microsoft on this one. the reinstall did not work.
the virus messed up the registry and permissions. Microsoft fixed it and is running good!!
