Change default web browser to Chrome via group policy

What are the best methods to change the default web browser from Internet Explorer (or Edge) to Google Chrome via group policy?

I need to make sure that I can make this change using group policy so that all Windows 10 and Server 2016 servers will change their default web browsers to Google Chrome.

All of these computers already have Google Chrome installed but it is not yet the default browser.

We also need to make sure that if any users change their default web browser that the group policy will automatically reset their default web browser back to being Google Chrome.

You want to download the admx file for google chrome and add them to a GPO and configure your settings

pull the admx files from the below link. scroll down to "Manage Chrome Browser and Google Policies"

I have downloaded and extracted the Google Chrome ADMX files.

Now how do I add these ADMX files to my Server 2016 group policy options so I can configure this group policy to make Google Chrome the default web browser on all computers?

yo_bee,

Yes, I found those instructions on their website and have successfully added the Chrome Administrative templates (https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/187202).

Now I'm trying to find exactly where within the new Google group policies (or wherever else I might need to go within the group policy) to set the default web browser on all client computers to be Google Chrome.

Where exactly do I need to go for this?

Is there a policy for specifying which Gmail account and password Google Chrome should be signed into so that Google Chrome on all client computers will be signed into the same Gmail account?

Does anyone else know if there is a way of doing this?
If the settings are in the Appdata you may be able to uses folder redirection.  If not you will need to figure how to script it.

No, you cannot.
