Copy / Paste Hyper-V virtual server files between volumes work?
Hello Experts,
Had a general issue / question regarding Hyper-V servers. Currently I have a misconfigured volume on the host server housing Hyper-V servers and their VHDX files. I need to change this volume from MBR to GPT so I can add space over 2TB.
Question: If I shut down the Hyper-V servers and manually move/backup all files to another volume, could I then: 1. recreate/modify the MBR volume to GPT. 2. Move the files back to the original volume and 3. start Hyper-V services and servers like nothing happened?
I dont have clustering, and live migration to another server isnt working because I suspect these are domain controllers they are on (part of the project that involves this is to demote these DCs to normal host servers.)

Is the OS installed on a small partition then the data on a larger partition?

All the Hyper-V files are on an iSCSI volume labeled "H:\". This is the volume I need to convert from MBR to GPT.

Your plan works, it is simple to move VM's from one host to another, or from one data location to another.
