How to backup and restore Samsung Notes on a Galaxy s8?

I am new to Samsung phones. I have a new S8 (running Android Oreo) and I want to be sure my notes can be restored if needed.

When I go to Setting > Cloud and Accounts > Samsung Cloud it shows Samsung Notes have synced but if I go to Notes > Settings > Import Data > (and select from google drive or Samsung account) I get the message: "No Memo data in Samsung account"

I don't have many notes yet so I can delete them and restore them to test it but how do I access the data to restore it? When I go to import data why does it say No Memo data?

Thanks,
PR

In addition to cloud backup you can try backing up the notes on the phone to computer using Samsung Manager.

That seems like a decent solution but $35?  Even if I purchase it, I would still like to know how to sync and restore from the cloud. Everything I google does not match what I see on the phone. Thanks.

Try Coolmuster Android Assistant tool to help you backup and restore Samsung Notes on a Galaxy s8. You just need to connect Galaxy S8 to computer via usb cable, start the tool. A short time scanning later, you can easily backup and restore the notes on it.
