PDF writer to buy, other than Acrobat

Which PDF programs can I look at purchasing for basic PDF editing?  We generally just open the file, remove or add pages, makes some notes and save it.  Nothing fancy.  Want something reliable and something that won't cause ads and stupid junk to pop up.

I don't want Acrobat. Anything but Acrobat and just a good simple reliable program.  Nuance is one I've used, but they went up on price.

Try Foxit software. They have PDF editing software that is quite good.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked and interestingly, they are priced exactly the same as Nuance now.  Annoying. I had been able to "buy" for 50.00-75.00.  Now they are wanting 129.00, or "only 7.99 per month" which I don't want to be forced into paying. I typically set up a machine and it runs for a few years with the software I purchase.  I don't like the idea of forced meal plans these companies are doing.

Agree - try it and see.
Hi wfcrr,
I see that you already closed this question, but wanted to pass along a comment, anyway. I presume by "Nuance is one I've used" that you mean their Power PDF product. If you've used that in the past, it was probably Version 2, since Version 3 came out only very recently. If you are happy with Version 2, you can still buy a perpetual license for that at a one-time fee in the price range that you mentioned in one of your posts, i.e., $50-75. Here's Power PDF Standard V2.0 at Amazon for $59.96:
https://www.amazon.com/Nuance-Power-PDF-AS09A-G00-2-0-Standard/dp/B01IM6VLXI

And here's Power PDF Advanced V2.0 at Amazon for $67.00:
https://www.amazon.com/Nuance-Power-PDF-AV09A-K00-2-0-Advanced/dp/B01LWC9TKP

For the extra $7.04, get Advanced. Regards, Joe

Update: As fate would have it, I received an email from Nuance today saying that the perpetual license for the new Power PDF Standard V3.0 is only $79, just a few dollars above your target:
https://shop.nuance.com/store/nuanceus/en_US/buy/productID.5195633800

Even so, you may be better off with the Advanced V2 than the Standard V3, but that depends on your needs. For example, the Bates Numbering/Stamping and Watched Folder features are available in Advanced, not Standard. On the other hand, there are new features in V3, so it depends on your requirements.
Hi,

To fix your query I am having some free utilities. A few days ago SysTools announces some free tools that can fix the day to day queries related to PDF files. Now, coming to your query if you want to add PDF pages I would suggest you use SysTools Free PDF Split & Merge utility. It is a freeware solution that can merge PDF files in batch. Along with this, if you want to make some notes then you can use PDF Toolbox software because this application allows to extract data from PDF document and once the data gets extracted you can make important notes. Moreover, this toolbox can also compress, convert & extract PDF file data containing text & images. Along with these utilities  Free PDF Watermark Creator tool allow you to batch insert watermark in PDF documents. To fill or edit PDF forms one can also use Free PDF Form Filler utility without any hassle.

Here is the list of some free PDF tools:
