Temporary profile ?
on server 2016, each time someone logs in it says that it is a temporary profile, would anyone know how to fix it?
I've tried restarting the machine, I've deleted the profile folder and tried again.

Hi Alexandre,
I get this error regarding the user profile,
EVENT ID - 1515
Windows has backed up this user profile, Windows will automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on.
EVENT ID - 1511
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off
what do you mean by folder redirection please?
Thanks,

Can you post the full text of the error being logged?
Folder redirection is a technique by which you "redirect" some user folders (such as desktop, documents, etc) to a file share (vs local drive). I guess your question pretty much says that you don't use it :)

Is that happening with all users or only a specific one?
Can you try with a new user (that you would create for that purpose)?

yes it is for every user, I've also created a brand new user and same problem.
also I must mention I am using RDS sessions, it happens on that. and happens when I directly log on to the sever as using my admin account, normal account and sys admin account.
I cannot seem to understand why this would happen.

Sorry to ask but do you have enough free space on the server drives? Can you run a check?

I have seen a very similar issue, and somehow the permissions to the Users folder got messed up, system had read only.
