Hardware has an icon of trashcan with an X. Can I throw it a way?
I noticed an interesting icon on my Hard Drive Adapter Cable. It is a trash can with an X.
So, does that mean "don't throw it away"?
If the cable fails am I supposed to treat it like hazardous material? And, if it is hazardous, why the heck am I touching right now?
Second question, Is there any website that will tell me what the icon means if I simply paste a high quality jpg?

WEEE
It is not hazardous, but I think it means "do not throw it away", so then by inference, "recycle it" . We have electronics recycling where I live.

Thanks.
Trouble is that WEEE Euro rules work on percentages so your bit of cable may be better thrown in the bin but overall it is a significant mass that can be reclaimed against recycling targets.
