Server room power availability

What power parameters do I need to know before bringing the equipment into the server room?  Want to make sure I plug things in and not kick the breakers.
I'm bringing two large switches, two large firewalls, and UPS.
Do I need to ask electrician for watts available, or Amps, or VAC?

You should certainly do that.
Oh man... I never guess. I always test, because manufacturer specs tend to just be wrong sometimes.

To test, plug your gear through a watt meter to a wall plug (if you can).

Cycle on gear + record two values.

1) Power surge at startup.

2) Power level after boot finishes.

You can use these to determine what, if any, additional equipment will be required.
Power supply WATTS on the case of any piece of equipment are invaluable. Record each piece of equipment and note the rated WATTS (power). For a bank of drives add 50% for startup surge. Other stuff 20%.

I'm bringing two large switches, two large firewalls, and UPS  <-- If your UPS is rated to handle the load with ease (not more than 50% of capacity to allow for future or temporary load), then that is another good guide.
Newegg has wattmeters if you wish

I have a couple of wattmeters in my basement and they are very handy.
