Full screen code chrome / IE

Morning all, I'm looking for some code that will enable IE and Chrome to go fullscreen when the web page opens. We have a number of browsers, so a single bit of code would be great.

I've added the current code I have.

What would be the best method to achieve this?

Many thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi cwstad2,

Please check out: https://github.com/sindresorhus/screenfull.js/

On your page load, add this code:
if (screenfull.enabled) {
	screenfull.request();
}

Open in new window

Due to security reasons your end user might have to press a button or interact with the page before it goes full-screen though.

Regards,
Chinmay.

Check your console, see if it is giving security error. As I said, if user does not interact with the page, this won't work.

Perhaps a consideration:

"Support legacy browser apps

Your organization can take advantage of Chrome Browser while still easily accessing older websites and apps that require Internet Explorer. Just deploy the Chrome legacy browser extension.  When users click links in the Chrome Browser that instead require a legacy browser, the URL automatically opens in the legacy browser.

Set up Legacy Browser Support |  Get the extension"

That could get you to one browser, Chrome. Then the next step is full-screen for only one browser.

Where are you referring to screenfull JS in this script? I was suspecting this, 'cause if it does not work it will give you an error. You have to add a reference to the screenful JS library from either downloading or via CDN. Please check: https://github.com/sindresorhus/screenfull.js/
