"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Why do you need to create a shortcut for a specific task, you can always create a shortcut for task scheduler instead.

Hi sam son,

Right-click an empty spot on your Desktop and select New > Shortcut.
In the Create Shortcut window enter the following text:
C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /run /tn "TaskName"
Where "TaskName" is the name of the task you chose.
Note: Include the quotation marks around the TaskName or it will fail to successfully run the task. Click Next and then enter a name for the shortcut. When done, click Finish.

Anyways, you can create a shortcut with below command C:\Windows\System32\Schtasks.exe /run /tn "Name of your task" and this should do what you want.
