Proper cable for UPS to PC

I have an APC UPS and I was trying to load the software to monitor the power supply usage. The software didn't install I think because I have to have the cable connected between the UPS and my PC (see attached images). What type of cable do I need for the serial port on the UPS to either a serial on my PC or USB?

Also, I have three Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor with a 16:10 ratio. I have windows behind me that create a pretty bad glare in the afternoons and I was looking for some good anti-glare/privacy screens. Any recommendations? I was wanting one that used a frame instead of the sticky tape. The monitors have the controls on the front of the frame of the monitor, so I wanted something that could accommodate the control. Just looking for recommendations on good anti-glare screens.

I use APC Power Chute on Windows 10 Pro and it installed fine. I just logged into my UPS unit and it shows up fine.

I used a standard 9-pin DB9 serial cable at both ends and connected the wires according the article below

The connection needs to be valid to connect but not to install.
Usually the software can be installed regardless of your device cable being plugged in or not (most of the times but some times its need to be plugged) you will need a RJ45 to USB cable as this one: APC ap9827 940-0127B Simple Signaling Back-UPS Battery USB Cable RJ50 RJ45 10pin
APC 940-0625A UPS Serial Cable DB9 RJ45APC 940-0625A UPS Serial Cable DB9 FEMALE RJ45

you can even create your own using a pinout guide
or get some adapters

I needed a 30 foot cable to reach my UPS but purchased or hand made should both work

Thanks John! I'll buy the RJ45 to serial cable. It's strange that the software won't install. There is a quick flash of a message that just blinks really fast and then nothing. No install will start. I tried to catch reading the message and it appears to reference a connection. So, I'm hoping that once the cable is plugged in to the UPS to the PC that the software will install properly.

I am using APC_pcbesetup_9.0.2  for my UPS.  I had some issue with VMware Workstation being there (which it still is) and a call to APC Support got me PCPEInstaller.exe which I also had to install if I remember correctly.

Did you think about assigning some helping points for the help I gave you?
-Dman100-Software ConsultantAuthor Commented:
how do you assign the points now? In the past it assigned the points automatically and then you could adjust. The UI has changed and I don't see where the points are now.

You'll have to open a new question on the anti-glare screen.
