Proper cable for UPS to PC
I have an APC UPS and I was trying to load the software to monitor the power supply usage. The software didn't install I think because I have to have the cable connected between the UPS and my PC (see attached images). What type of cable do I need for the serial port on the UPS to either a serial on my PC or USB?
Also, I have three Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor with a 16:10 ratio. I have windows behind me that create a pretty bad glare in the afternoons and I was looking for some good anti-glare/privacy screens. Any recommendations? I was wanting one that used a frame instead of the sticky tape. The monitors have the controls on the front of the frame of the monitor, so I wanted something that could accommodate the control. Just looking for recommendations on good anti-glare screens.
Thanks.

I needed a 30 foot cable to reach my UPS but purchased or hand made should both work

Thanks John! I'll buy the RJ45 to serial cable. It's strange that the software won't install. There is a quick flash of a message that just blinks really fast and then nothing. No install will start. I tried to catch reading the message and it appears to reference a connection. So, I'm hoping that once the cable is plugged in to the UPS to the PC that the software will install properly.
I am using APC_pcbesetup_9.0.2 for my UPS. I had some issue with VMware Workstation being there (which it still is) and a call to APC Support got me PCPEInstaller.exe which I also had to install if I remember correctly.
Did you think about assigning some helping points for the help I gave you?

how do you assign the points now? In the past it assigned the points automatically and then you could adjust. The UI has changed and I don't see where the points are now.
You'll have to open a new question on the anti-glare screen.
