Change in behaviour of remote desktop login (RDP) with Google Chrome.
In the last couple of weeks my remote login from home computer to work has changed with Google Chrome browser (but not Firefox or Microsoft Edge).
The new behaviour is:  instead of opening a separate RDP application it opens a remote session in a Chrome browser window itself   .
This is annoying as multiple steps are then needed to get the browser to show the remote desktop in full screen mode.
I'm running Win 10 Pro 64 bit and Google Chrome Version  68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I have included images of the RDP session starting and logging in. Previously with Google Chrome (and still with Firefox and Microsoft Edge) a separate RDP task icon appears on the task bar with full-screen capability.

Try resetting the Remote Desktop association.
In search bar type: Default apps
Click on Set Defaults by App
Scroll to Remote Desktop and Click on it.
Click Manage then Click on Remote Desktop again and choose Remote Desktop Connection.

Try In search bar type: Remote Desktop settings

It offers settings to connect and control this PC whereas I'm connecting to another PC. SO I can't see anything to reset.

Then the issue is probably with Chrome and an extension.
In chrome addressee bar go to: chrome://extensions/ and look for a extension for RDP.

Nothing relevant to RDP there but I did try an older version of the "Chromium" browser I had. Chromium not Google Chrome. And it asked how to work with Citrix Receiver. Or use the lite version browser version if you say no. I accepted and it worked as before. SO issue if to get Citrix Receiver working again I suspect.

Wes - in the end, I simply cleared my chrome browser cache as it had lost the association with the Citrix Receiver launcher. Now works. Perhaps I should have tried that earlier but I didn't have a mental model of what was happening. So if you don't accept the Citrix Receiver option, Chrome seems to use its own internal light version. The mechanics of this I'm not sure. But it's far from optimal as takes two steps to get close to full screen and then not as good as the Citrix Receiver option which can be downloaded at https://www.citrix.com.au/downloads/citrix-receiver/windows/receiver-for-windows-latest.html
