Compact Framework connection to web service fails on secured channel
I have a net 2.0 compact framework client that pulls data via an asp.net web service (also 2.0) . This is working fine until we try to connect to the web service on an encrypted link
https: Now I'm getting a web exception in the client, it does work if I change it back to http:
Is there something I need to put in the local.config file to support https? Something with the certificate I need to change or something else
Thanks

Have you imported their certificate? Is the API site https? Do they even have a certificate?

Yes it's a commodo wild card certificate it's enabled on all our servers and seems to work fine when serving classic asp pages however fails with the web service.
Is the service setup on a https listener in IE?

I'm not sure I'm following what does IE have to do with it? The site has http and https bindings the web service is setup to use it's own application pool independent of the parent. The parent is classic ASP the service is ASP.net
The asp.net web service has to also be bound to https, duh!
ASKER
It is
Not sure then...
