Hi,

Could you try to create a new profile in Outlook?

Follow this link to create a new profile in Outlook:

Yes, i have thought of this, however, it is random with multiple different users being affected, i have disabled the outlook cache and forced it to send the mail directly to the server and this seems to resolve the issue but as soon as the cache is enabled and rebuilt and left running for a  couple of weeks it just does it again.

I am starting to have suspicions that it might be the version of outlook(2010 mostly) and the version of Exchange(2013) that might be causing this, is this even possible?
Hi,

Sure you an have problems when you are using outdated versions.

Do you have the same error in Outlook Web App (OWA)?

Have not been able to test for an extended period so i cannot conclude if it is the same or not, however i would expect it not to have the same issue as it is direct on the server with no caching involved.
If it does however do it on webmail as well if i manage to recreate the issue is there any suggestions i can then look at?
If you're running IMAP for your mail store, most likely there's a permission problem on the server side, as all folders in IMAP actually live on the server.

If this is the case, take a look at your IMAP log files... So camp on your log with tail -f logfile + execute your Outlook operation. If you have any server problem (and your logging level is set high enough), you should see any server side problems instantly.

Likely good for you to post an update of...

1) Type of protocol you're using - IMAP4 or POP3.

2) If this was working + just started failing or you've created a new account which has never worked correctly.
IMAP4 only - no POP3 at all.
I would venture to say if it was the IMAP4 service it would be consistent to most users but this is randomly happening to different users and never in the same sequence either. The issue has been ongoing for some time now but i cannot find a pattern to it. If it was a permissions issue it would consistently happen and the problem would not be intermittent but regular intervals will be experienced.
Hi,

What Exchange version and which Outlook version you have?

You can try to upgrade the Outlook machine. It is easier.

Cheers
Viktor
It is Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2010, the procurement process has been started to migrate directly to O365 but this may take a while, and as i suspected all along might just resolve this issue.
Hi,

And the Outlook 2010 version. Check the version in help, it will show you the build.

Cheers
Viktor
The Client has decided to upgrade their office license to O365 which i am sure will bring other issues but it hink we have narrowed the possibilities for this error enough, this request may be concluded
