This sounds more like an addon or extension hack. &nbsp;Try renaming or moving the firefox profile.<br />

Quit firefox.<br />
Open an xterm command window and move the profile folder to another location.<br />
mv ~/.mozilla/firefox/profile<wbr />s/*.defaul<wbr />t ~/<br />

Start firefox.<br />

If the popups disappear, then you can copy back your saved bookmark file<br />
cp ~/*.default/bookmarks.html<wbr /> ~/.mozilla/firefox/profile<wbr />s/*.defaul<wbr />t/
