VDI and Certificate access

I'm building a Vmware Virtual Desktop Solution where I have a SSL cert issue. The issue is that I can't order an ssl cert from an external provider so I have created a my own certificate  server (windows 2016 ). I believe that the SSL cert is required for the connection and security servers so they xcan successfully connect. I can create a request via the mmc from the server, but I'm not sure what details are required for 1) Subject 2) Extension 3) Private Key. Is this the best solution for this

Thanks

Do you have an internal ROOT CA? If not you need to create a self-signed cert.

I am sorry that I am asking this, but what do you need the SSL Cert for? I do not recall having this in my setup accept for my public UR access .

ASKER

Yes. I have setup a internal certificate server
That good. You can make a request from your IIS server that is hosting the website. The key is the Friendly Name. This needs to match your URL or you will get the error.
The key strength can be set to 2048.  Everything else really can be random word.

This is a well illustrate video.  The English is a bit tough to understand, but the steps are there.

Thanks for the information. As this is for a Vmware VDI solution I don't have IIS installed on my cert authority or on the planned Vmware VDI connection and Security Servers. As I can request the certificate by using the MMC, all I need to know is what information is required to be entered when creating the request as I don't have a template for creating the information for the cert request.
