asked on

how to save PDF files locally on iPad & read them offline

on my Android phone that has microSD card, I could copy PDF/Word
files into the SD card & read on the phone while travelling ie without
Internet/Cellular mobile data.

How can I do the same on my iPad mini (which does not have 4G/
Mobile Data) while I'm travelling (during long train journeys).
Anyway, I can save the PDF files locally in the iPad?

I could access my gmail while at home but is there any way to save
the PDF attachments while opening the gmail to save the PDF locally?

Don't want to buy an adapter if possible.

The PDF files need to be stored locally.

1. Get Adobe for the iPad. It has some capacity to save files.
2. Use Dropbox and mark needed files as Local while you have a connection. Then you can read these files without a connection.

Those are the main two ways I work to provide files when not connected.

What's the exact Adobe app name for the above?  Can't locate in
Appstore "Adobe for iPad".  How do we get it to read locally?
Try here:

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/adobe-acrobat-reader/id469337564?mt=8

Install it and see if it has a location for files.

I use Dropbox for files on my iPhone as that seems to work best.

Installed the Adobe Acrobat reader.

Just one last help:

>I use Dropbox for files on my iPhone as that seems to work best.
I've signed up for Dropbox : can't locate any option for me to upload files:
mind showing a screen or two on where this option is?

Ok, looks like my Win XP can't install Dropbox: need Win 7.
Yes, I have Dropbox plus Adobe Acrobat installed on iPad.

I'll install Dropbox on my Android phone then (which has
microSD card storing the PDF files).
XP is dead so Drop Box will work on Windows 7 and above and all modern mobile devices.

It is best to have Drop Box on some computer as that makes it easy to put files into which later replicate to devices. I have been doing this for some years now.
