Win 10 blocking all Microsoft metrics...turning off all privacy options
I have maybe 50 Win 10 PC at home user clients...
I want the Win 10 machines running as clean as possible...with no Microsoft metrics...privacy settings etc...
Previous to v1709 I was turning off some of the obvious stuff I didn't need...
With v1803 I got a lot more aggressive in turning stuff off...
Then it seemed to me that some of the v1709 stuff that I turned off got turned back on when they
were upgraded to v1803....
Now I'm turning off everything I can find...
Basically I uninstall every thing I can other than core OS stuff...
I turn off all privacy stuff I can find...where ever in setting anything might be located that I can turn off without
hurting performance...
I have a regedit to block wannacry...
I disable cortana...
I use Classic Shell...
I block third part junk offers...
And I would love to get rid of all Apps...
And other stuff...
This takes a while...and I work off a check list so I don;t miss anything...
And I add to this list from time to time...
Redstone is coming out this fall...and I'm worried that that upgrade will eliminate all my
hard work and re-establish everything I've turned off or uninstalled...
Assuming I am correct about Redstone...does anyone know if there is anyway to block
the Redstone upgrade from re-establishing everything...???

John...you have helped me several times over the last couple of years...
And I appreciate your experience...knowledge and assistance...
However...this time I felt you were a bit off base...I felt that basically you were telling me that I was wrong....
80% of my customers are older, retired not very computer literate ussers...Some in nursing homes...
I set my computers up because I KNOW my clientle...I know what they want...I know how they use their comptuers...So I set them up the way I do for a reason...I want the computers to be as easy to use as I can make them...for my clients...
My question was..."Redstone is coming out this fall...and I'm worried that that upgrade will eliminate all my
hard work and re-establish everything I've turned off or uninstalled...
Assuming I am correct about Redstone...does anyone know if there is anyway to block
the Redstone upgrade from re-establishing everything...???"
Which you did not address at all...
Because no one else made any comments....and I waited several days...i closed the post as you were the only commenter...not because I "accepted" your response and being correct or satisfying my question...

I did not think you were wrong - just that I do things differently and in accordance with Microsoft. I have been at their Global MVP Summits.
I agreed with you that Redstone will redo some of your work. It did for me. But I have no way of knowing how much in your case. Again, you are not wrong.
I ran the Redstone upgrade and there was no way of blocking the questions that I could see.
See if you can test it before others try it.
I am here if you need more from me.
