I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Natively, what you want does not work. Left Arrow moves the cursor to the cell left and does not delete anything.

It would seem to be a bad idea to try to map the Left Arrow to be the Delete key. Just use Backspace if you are actively typing or otherwise Delete to delete an entry.

Left arrow + something is just Left Arrow and then later Something.

Pressing F2 should put you in edit cell mode on an active cell.
