outlook for mac 2011 keeps crashing.

Outlook 2011 for Mac locks up and quits unexpectedly.  This is on an iMAC from 2014.  The outlook account is office 365.  Are there any programs that can fix these kind of issues or is there somewhere in office 2011 for mac that runs a diagnostics and error fix scan?

Stop, you should wait to install Office 2016. You won’t be able to receive mail from a current mailbox. Outlook 2016 is not compatible with Exchange 2007. You may want to contact your mailbox provider or system administrator about this issue.

There is an excellent article explaining how this will work and what you need to do to make it work

If your office for Mac application is. It patched I would patch it with the latest service pack and updates and then check.

when I try to udpate is says it cannot reach the update server.  Any idea why this would be?  I have a good internet connection.

I cannot remember the link but you can google versions of office for Mac and see where your version is and then download the files.
