Cool nice drives!  So what do you plan to connect the SAS drives to?  a PC?  And you have a way to mount them internally?  or do you want external enclosures?

When you say Adapters and if you mean internal drives, you will be unable to convert SAS drives to SATA.  You will certainly need a SAS controller.

Otherwise the option is to get external SAS enclosures that have a built in controller and make them external and connect via USB.

Please provide a little more information and we can go forward.

They will be mounted internally to an Intel S2600cp server board.

I'm just looking for the best and least expensive SAS adapters that I can use to connect these drives to this server board.

I will be setting these up as individual drives and will not be implementing RAID.

Also do you need or require RAID?

Amazon has a range of 6g SAS RAID and non RAID SAS/SATA controller cards.

You'll most likely need the SAS cabling as well.

I suggest sticking with LSI/Avago and running with a 93xx-8i series PCIe Add-in Card.

Phillip,

Do you have URL addresses of where I can buy such products from (such as from Amazon)?

Wakeup,

I purchased the cheap PCI adapter from Amazon.

Please see my other question Cable adapter needed to connect SAS hard drives to "YK838 - RAID Controller PCI-E SAS 2-Channel SAS6/IR PowerEdge R510 Dell" PCI adapter to let me know what kind of cable adapter I need to purchase for this controller card.
