compare two different pdf

compare 2 pdf
both are damage estimates
with different prices for different categories

want to see how numbers are different on same screen

not arexis merge comparison tool because pdfs are very different. But look similar
Adobe acrobat dc pro compares new version and old version of pdf but the only thing text comparison thinks is similar is the word "page". Also the date has same month and same year.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Likely best to extract the text version of each PDF + diff the two.

The command I normally use for this generally takes the form of...

pdftotext -enc ASCII7 -nopgbrk -layout '$in'

The pdftotext command is part of the poppler tools package available for install on most operating systems.

If you're using Windows (shudder) look for a prebuilt version or if you're adventurous, build from source.
