"We can't sign into your account" and Windows 10.

After deleting a user's profile by following the below steps, user get's the below error. How do you fix this?

Steps:
1. Click Start > in the Search/Run box type sysdm.cpl {enter} > Select the Advanced tab > User Profile Section > Settings.
2. Locate the offending profile and select delete > then confirm.

Error and next login:
"We can't sign into your account

This problem can often be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in.
If you don't sign out now, any files you create or changes you make will be lost."

Logged in as an admin, run regedit (backup your registry first) and look for the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.  Scroll through the keys and you may still find the user you "deleted".....remove that users key.  Next under the users folder, rename the deleted users folder if it still exists then try logging in again as that user.

That solved it? The profile wizard should do exactly these steps automatically. Interesting.

The same way you did. That was correct and should not need anything else. Did that dozens of times myself.
