Xbox One S DVD Plays, Game Does Not
I must be missing something simple. I had a customer bring in an Xbox One S that the Blu-Ray Drive would not read discs. I first attempted to swap the laser, but this did not repair it. So, I ordered the complete optical drive. I have swapped out the daughter boards (soldering) and installed the drive in the console. It now reads DVD's, but it does not read or at least attempt to load the Xbox One game I have. Suggestions?
Ahh but does it play a blue-ray disk? Different lasers

swapped out the daughter boardsThat is the expected behaviour. It is paired with the device and swapping the board changed the ID

Shaun, I do not follow. The daughter board, or the board to the Optical Drive is the same as what it had in there. I moved their board to the new drive and installed the new drive. Is that not what I am supposed to do?
You cannot change the board with a donor board. It is keyed. You can use the old board on a new drive

Okay. I do understand this, Shaun. I am using the old board on the new drive, but am having my issue.
UPDATE: Blu-Ray disc I brought in this morning caused error 0x80820002

I can now confirm that I CAN play a Blu-Ray disc that I brought in today. However, the only game from the customer that I have is not recognized AT ALL. I will see if they will bring another game in.
The behaviour where the Blue-Ray can play but a game not is a typical key pairing issue. The point is that the drive is causing a key mismatch

OKAY, I did that. Now what?
