"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If the owner changed (so the owner contacted the Registrar with proper proof of change), the Registrar records the change and the public no longer has this information. The Registrar would have it if you wish to contact them.

We changed the ownership of a domain we use at a client and the current owner are listed. The long ago owners are not listed.

Also, it could be an invasion of privacy if you tried to find out about or contact someone who had something to do with a domain name a decade ago.

This information is readily available at who.is.  There are many other sites with this information, but this one is probably the easiest to use.

Example:

https://who.is/domain-history/experts-exchange.com

(There are 476 historical records for this domain.)

If you require detailed information, there are several sites that will sell you detailed reports per-report or per-month as a service.

(This is all public information, which is why most registrars now offer protection services to hide the name of who really registered a domain.)
