Store Distribution Group Members in Variable for use in Send-MailMessage

Trying to use Powershell to get the members of a Distribution Group into a variable that can be used in an email.  The Get-DistributionGroupMember returns the list that I want to see but I cannot figure out how to get it into a variable that can be used in the body of an email by the Send-MailMessage command.

How can I get the data stored and retrievable?  All I really need is the list of the names of the members, I do not need the recipient type.

Thank you,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In the BODY of an email? So, this will list one per line:

$members = Get-DistributionGroupMember <group-name> | Select-Object -Expand Name
$string = $members -join "`r`n"

Now you can use $string inside the body of the email.
