Please Wait For The User Profile Service (takes a long time)
Hello,
Seen a few threads here relating to the same, however unable to get a resolution. Running a Windows Server 2008 RDS farm (15x servers; 10vCPU, 54GB RAM, running on vCenter. Roaming profiles enabled). When some users log in (>75% of users) they get the message on logging in "Please Wait For The User Profile Service", this can last for over 10mins. Some things I've tried:
- Isolating a user account and server to an OU and blocking GPO (no change)
- Removing AV (no change)
- Deleting profile from server (i.e. C:\ and registry)
- Single network card, IPv6 enabled
- No errors in event viewer; winlogon 6006 warning event to show it took XXX seconds (always above 400 seconds)
I copied the selected account in AD, this new test account logs in fine and without issue :|
So I am totally baffled, any ideas greatly welcomed
Thanks

use the windows performance toolkit and analyze the boot. roaming profiles without folder redirection will always take a relatively long time as the complete profile is copied from the server store to the users computer.
Check if any of the roaming profile is opening in another program for all servers.
