DHCP Scope creation error :-(

Hello :-)

I have only one DHCP scope with the following settings, it was executed by the previous IT staff:

001.PNG
I need to create a new scope with these settings:

Network: 10.61.10.0
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.61.10.1
Range: 10.61.10.1 -> 10.61.10.254
Name: Vlan_Wifi

But I receive this error:

What is wrong?? :-(

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I believe the issue is that the previous scope has a /16 subnet mask, which in turn covers your network.

Jorge, I was looking at / 16 and my brain insisted on / 24. Forget it, my fault.

Adrecal, don't look at it from the decimal point of view but rather from the subnetting point of view, a /16 subnet (255.255.0.0) will cover from 10.61.0.- to 10.61.255.255. You need to change the subnet mask of your existing network or create a network outside the range.
