SBS 2011 fax service problem after replacing modem

Hello! I have an SBS 2011 server that has been running without serious issues for a good bit, and last week the modem servicing the built in fax server died. It was a Zoom USB, and was replaced with a USB USR5637.  Drivers for the old one were removed and the new one added, and the modem installed successfully with no errors.  Configuring fax service wizard no longer allows me to select route through email (which was being used) so I chose "store in file" to get this back up and running and got the three green checks completing the wizard.  The fax service shows as not started, it starts and stops with Event ID's 32108 and 1000 (below) logged in the app log.  I've removed and re-added the fax service and that didn't change anything... Any thoughts or hints to get this working again would be awesome!  TIA!

Another fax modem resolved the sending/receiving, however SBS fax console is still broken....
Was able to resolve  by deleting all the faxes in the queue and then repairing the fax service/SBS console under SBS console advanced settings once the modem was functional.  Note, used a modem with a Conexant chipset.
Thank you!! :-)
