outlook

we had outlook 2010 msi version (cache mode) and just upgraded to outlook 2016 (which is also on cache mode)

however we are using click to run method with shared computer licensing option this time
and applied group policy to cache emails upto 90 days.we cant change to online mode due to our company policy.

however when ever users need old emails they can download from the link that says "Click here for more messages from Microsoft Exchange".
If users click that link, Outlook will load older messages that are not already cached in the OST.

i have 2  ost files showing under folder ost$

1 is my name .ost             8/28/2018 245, 200 kb

other is my name (2) .ost  8/25/2018  120,150 kb

2 questions

1) first when we download the new emails, it wont rewrite the same to ost folder, am i correct
2) which .ost file should i delete having older date, as i need to clear up some space.
3) is theer any simpel script i can run where if i need to delete old .ost of users.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1. The existing OST file will be used for an existing account. That is the way it works for us.

2. If you are that short of space, delete OST files and allow them to be remade.

3. I will look but it is normally a user activity.
