Outlook search

James asked

I have a customer that is running a Citrix environment and O365 but they want to use the outlook search function to find emails. As I understand it is best practice in a Citrix environment to disable Windows Indexing otherwise it can will cause performance issues. Just wondering if anyone has a work around for using outlook search in a Citrix environment ?

Which version of Office is that? Newer ones perform searches against the Exchange server, and dont rely exclusively on the windows search index. More details here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/outlooking/2017/04/27/how-outlook-2016-utilizes-exchange-server-2016-fast-search/

Thanks, It is Outlook 2016. if you want to do searches against the Exchange server don't you have to run Outlook in online mode ? I thought the recommendation for O365 was to run outlook in cached mode ?
